- Self Host Option
- Yes
- Retention Default
- In the on-premises deployment the audio never reaches Speechmatics: the services run as Kubernetes-controlled containers inside the customer's own infrastructure, so retention is entirely the customer's policy.
- Retention Exceptions
- This row grades the container deployment, not the hosted Speechmatics SaaS, which is a different data path. The models are proprietary — the customer controls where inference runs but cannot take the weights elsewhere, which is why portability scores as it does rather than at the level of the Whisper row.
- Subprocessors
- none in the on-premises inference path, the corporate list is published inline in the privacy policy and runs to roughly 35 named entities, including Anthropic Ireland, Limited

- Eu Procurement Reason
- The commercial answer to the Whisper row: a supported product whose inference runs inside the customer's own cluster, from a company that has been doing speech recognition since 2006 and is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type II. Speechmatics also does something no other vendor in this batch does — it publishes its full processor and sub-processor list inline in the privacy policy rather than behind a trust-centre login, roughly thirty-five named entities with purposes, and it contracts its own AI assistant through Anthropic Ireland, Limited rather than the US entity. The United Kingdom is a third country, so transfers rely on the adequacy decision rather than never leaving the Union, and that decision is revocable. For a buyer whose objection is that meeting audio must not leave the building, this is the shortest path to yes that comes with a support contract.
