Retention Default
Content is retained for the life of the account. The sub-processor page, effective 31 March 2026, records that Anthropic and OpenAI both operate under commitments that no customer data will be used to train or improve their models and that neither stores customer data sent through the API.
Retention Exceptions
No EU residency option is published anywhere. Every sub-processor entity country on the page is the United States, with one entry spanning the United States, the Philippines and Honduras for customer-initiated support.
Subprocessors
Amazon Web Services (US), Google Cloud Platform (US), Crusoe (US), Anthropic (US), OpenAI (US), Zendesk, OneSignal, Stripe, Zuora, Slack, Intercom, Workato, WorkOS, PlanHat, On24 (US), Research Transcriptions (US, annotation of training and evaluation data), Crescendo (US / Philippines / Honduras)

Eu Procurement Reason
Otter publishes the best sub-processor page in this batch — every entity named, its activity described, its country stated, with an effective date and a commitment to notify account owners of changes — and what the page discloses is that the entire supply chain is American. There is no published EU residency option, no Chapter V transfer mechanism named for European customers, and no zero-retention tier. The disclosure is genuinely good and it is not a substitute for a data path: a European buyer reading this page learns precisely which US companies will hold the recording. Note also that Otter's security page says its policies are "created based on the ISO 27001/2 framework", which is alignment rather than certification, so only the SOC 2 Type 2 is credited here.
